Pharrell has a new colorful collaboration with adidas dubbed the “Solar Pack.” The two NMD HU Trail shoes have tribal prints prominently featured on their Primeknit uppers.
This sneaker release was originally referred to as the “Afro Pack” due to the inspiration it draws from Africa. One of the pairs is highlighted by black, yellow and red colors while the other has shades of orange, teal and purple.
The tough trail rubber outsole on these NMDs makes them suitable for a variety of settings. The Solar Pack shoes are also fitted with marble-like EVA insert plugs, lacing cage panels and a Boost midsole.
As has become customary with any Pharrell design, each sneaker has a motivational message. One shoe reads “3MPOW3R” which stands for Empower and the other has “M1L3L3,” which translates to forever in Swahili.
There has been a third shoe rumored in this collection, but no official word about whether one will be included. In April, some leaked photos showed a third red/grey/blue colorway.
The official release for the Pharrell NMD HU Trail Solar Pack is August 18. The price point has yet to be released, but speculation pegs it at $250.
