The Unveiling of the Lebron 16

The Unveiling of the Lebron 16

LeBron James continues to be an innovator on and off the basketball court. His latest business project has teamed him up with the New York-based fashion house, Harlem Fashion Row.

HFR was created in 2007 to elevate multicultural designers and particularly women so that they can use their unique perspectives to create. Given James’ extensive efforts to impact social change, the partnership was a natural fit.

HFR and the basketball superstar have combined their brands to create the HFR x LeBron 16, the first of LeBron’s shoes to be reimagined by female designers. Three designers from HFR worked in concert with James’ devoted shoe designer and a Nike global basketball footwear designer.

This collaboration gave the HFR designers the opportunity to travel to the Nike World Headquarters to learn what goes into making a performance shoe. They also met up for working design session in New York.

The sneaker was officially unveiled to the public on September 4 at the Harlem Fashion Row Showcase Gala. James was also honored for his work in the community at the event.
The HFR x LeBron 16 goes on sale to the public in limited quantities on September 7. It will be available as a SNKRS in North America exclusive and on nike.com.
