Houston Rockets guard James Harden is having a banner week. He won his first NBA MVP award after leading the Rockets to a franchise-best 65 wins and averaging 30.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists. His shoe brand, adidas, was also ready to celebrate one of their most high-profile superstars. They have released a three sneaker “MVP” collection featuring the Harden Vol. 2, Harden Vol 2. LS and a Harden BTE X. All three of the shoes have a black/gold/soft blue color scheme. They each also pay special homage to Harden’s MVP honor. The dubrae of the of the Vol. 2 is highlighted by an MVP insignia. The tongue on both the Vol. 2 LS and the BTE X also features MVP written out in gold.
The retail values are as follows: Harden Vol. 2 ($160), Harden Vol. 2 LS ($160), Harden BTE X ($110). One of Harden’s other partners is adding to the celebration even more. Trolli has created the world’s most expensive candy around the Rockets star’s milestone achievement. They have made their own life-size gummy version of the Harden Vol. 2 MVP colorway. It features the same details as the real shoe and has a flavor combination of raspberry, lemon, strawberry and blackberry. Three pairs of these edible sneakers go on sale on eBay Friday. Their price point is $2,667, which equals the total number of points Harden notched during the 2017-18 season.
