Sean Wotherspoon x Air Max 97/1 Will Release On Air Max Day

Air Max Day 2018 is approaching quickly, and Nike fans can hardly wait to see the highly anticipated reveal of the Sean Wotherspoon Nike Air Max 97/1 hybrid. This new design is the winner of the Nike’s RevolutionAir Design contest from last year’s Nike Air Max day and it will feature a bunch of retro colors, and include some of the often forgotten corduroy material on the racing stripes. There will also be a couple of nods of recognition to the two Air Max silhouettes that were commemorated at last year’s anniversary as these shoes will feature the Air Max 97 upper atop and a Air Max 1 sole, which is a beautiful combination of the two designs. In addition to that, the Air Max 97/1s will have velcro tongue tabs so that customers can pick whether to feature their shoes with a wave or the famous Swoosh logo.

Interchangeable tongue patches will make the user experience even more personalized and more fun to change up on a daily basis. This was something that was highlighted on the Air Max 97 “Country Camo” pack that was popular enough to bring back this time around.

The ‘90s references on these shoes are enough to make any fan nostalgic of the decade. It also appears that alongside these hip shoes, Nike is planning to release a matching t-shirt with similar print and colors for wearers to look stylish as they go about their day. Some of the select retailers other than Nike that will be carrying these sneakers include BSTN, Allike, SneakAvenue, Solebox, Hanon, Foot District, END Clothing and Sneakersnstuff.

Initially this wave of product drop is going to be pretty limited on the release date, which is currently March 26th in the United States and March 24th in the EU. Even though there is a limited number of pairs for sale, it won’t be quite as few as the last release. Nike fans of these throwback shoes will be able to try their luck at having an opportunity to purchase a pair at $160 USD, so stay tuned for future details.
